Benjamin Kop - PhD student
Benjamin Kop obtained his research master’s degree in Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London, following his bachelor’s in Psychology specialised in Brain and Cognition at Radboud University. In his PhD, Benjamin works together with both our lab and the Neuromodulation lab headed by Dr. Lennart Verhagen to apply transcranial ultrasonic stimulation (TUS) in the context of decision making and motor control. More specifically, Benjamin’s PhD will primarily focus on non-invasive neuromodulation of the basal ganglia, opening the field to the causal role of this structure in healthy human participants. Using a combination of brain stimulation, neuroimaging, computational modelling, and behavioural measures, Benjamin hopes to elucidate the neural underpinnings of decision making and motor control.
