Julie Hoomans - MSc student

Julie Hoomans is a Research Master’s student in Cognitive Neuroscience at Radboud University and intern in the LDM lab. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Amsterdam University College, majoring in Biomedical Sciences. For her Bachelor’s thesis, she investigated autophagy-lysosomal pathway-related biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease at the department of Anatomy and Neurosciences at Amsterdam UMC.

For her Master’s thesis at the LDM lab, Julie will investigate the role of serotonin in meta-decision making, under the supervision of Bertalan Polner. She is interested in whether serotonin plays a role in our ability to detect if we have control over our environment. To assess this question, she will use a behavioural task combined with pharmacological intervention and computational modeling.
