Congrats Jesse, MSc. !
On August 30, Jesse van der Spek, master student in the lab under supervision of Johannes and Hanneke, has successfully defended his master thesis “Neural oscillatory mechanisms of adapting motivational biases to aid action selection”. In his impressive thesis, he presented results from two studies, one eye-tracking and one MEG study, investigating whether people can up- and downregulate motivational biases using spatial attention to rewards and punishments, and even more, whether people direct their spatial attention to rewards and punishment in a way that is congruent with their action goals. In the next weeks, Jesse will still be around at the Donders, supporting research at the Donders Centre for Cognition!
We were very happy to have Jesse in our lab and are sad to seem him leave now. We wish him all the best in the future!
