Ping Chen - PhD student
Ping obtained her master degree in cognitive neuroscience at South China Normal University. She investigated the mesocircuit hypothesis in patients with disorders of consciousness, using techniques including resting-state fMRI, PET and machine learning models. In September 2019, Ping joined the motivational and cognitive control lab as a PhD student, primarily supervised by Roshan Cools and Hanneke den Ouden. Ping is interested in the role of dopamine in motivation and cognitive map-based planning such as inference. As part of her PhD, Ping is also studying whether individual differences in striatal dopamine synthesis capacity predict motivational biases of action, using an existing PET dataset.
